In search for the perfect summer job for a school teacher, Browns Brew was created.

After spending the last decade lifeguarding in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, owner, Eric Brown decided he was ready for a change. He wanted to be able to make his own hours, work closer to home, and talk to people all day.

Coffee was always part of Eric’s daily routine. After years of stopping on the way to school for a coffee, he finally asked for his own espresso machine for Christmas. He made an espresso shot every morning before school, making sure each shot was hitting the perfect espresso range. After months of observing baristas, asking questions, and hundreds of mess ups, he was getting that perfect espresso shot every time. And then his wheels started spinning.

He learned as a Veteran living in Monmouth County, he had access to a peddlers-hawkers license. With this license, he would be able to sell goods anywhere in Monmouth County. Then he thought, well maybe I can brew my own coffee and sell it to all the local beach towns.

He attended Coffee Fest in NYC to learn the brewing process, found the perfect tricycle company (Icicle Tricycles), came up with the name, and then he got to brewing.

The rest is history!
